Coach Aaron Evans
Aaron Evans, a native of Beulah, Mississippi, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game to our program. He served as the men’s basketball Head Assistant Coach at Peru State College during the 2008–09 season, where he played a key role in recruiting top talent from across the country and was instrumental in player development.
Coach Evans has also coached at the professional level in the American Basketball Association, serving as Head Coach of the Arlington Bulldogs from 2010 to 2012. His coaching experience extends to the high school level, where he worked as an Assistant Coach at Southwest Christian School in Fort Worth, Texas. He also served as a volunteer assistant under Coach Willie Thomas at West Bolivar High School—one of Mississippi’s most successful programs.
As a player, Evans competed professionally in Germany for BG Leitershofen and BBC Neu Ulm. He was also selected to play on the USA Select Basketball team, traveling internationally to Holland and Belgium while representing the United States.
Before his professional career, Evans played as a guard at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, under legendary coach Mike Trader, and also competed at Mississippi Delta Community College. He began his basketball journey at West Bolivar High School, where he helped lead his team to an impressive 89–7 record over three years, finishing as state runner-up twice, and earning all state honors.
Evans earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, with an emphasis in physical education, secondary education, and sociology.
